Ms. Klingebiel is Manager, Financial Advisory & Banking Reserves Program. Previously, she was a Principal Portfolio Manager for the World Bank’s Pension and Endowment Department where she was the head of the emerging markets equities and opportunistic portfolios.
Before, she was responsible for the Plans’ hedge fund portfolios, the currency portfolio and the Global Tactical Asset Allocation portfolio, and the developed international equities portfolios. In addition, she researched portfolio construction, persistence of manager alpha and portfolio construction of public and alternative portfolios as well as broader financial and capital markets issues and developed a currency trading model for 11 developed market currencies. Ms. Klingebiel also worked in the World Bank’s Research and Financial Sector Policy and Strategy Departments as well as in various regional departments. In that capacity, she advised governments on financial sector policies and regulatory frameworks and undertook research on banking systems, capital markets, and banking and financial system crises with their resolution mechanisms. She has published extensively in the areas of pension management, capital markets, banking, financial crises, and enterprise and financial sector restructuring in leading professional and academic journals.
Ms. Klingebiel joined the World Bank in 1995. She holds a doctorate degree and Master of Science in Economics and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany.
