Evaluating The World Bank's Approach to Global Programs: Addressing the Challenges of Globalization

The World Bank's Independent Evaluation Group (IEG), has released its evaluation of the World Bank's involvement in global programs in December 2004. This report, entitled Addressing the Challenges of Globalization, follows on a Phase 1 report (2002) and a meta-evaluation of the CGIAR (2003). The Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) is an independent unit within the World Bank; it reports directly to the Bank's Board of Executive Directors. The goals of IEG 's evaluations are to draw lessons from Bank experience, and to provide an objective basis for assessing the results of the Bank's work.
