Rebuilding Kosovo
Even before the recent hostilities in Kosovo, the Bank says the province was already the poorest within the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, with widespread unemployment and crippling debts.

Furthermore, the Bank argues that reviving Kosovo will only be possible within a broader strategy of repairing the economies of neighboring countries such as Albania, for Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and others that also incurred economic losses as a result of the conflict.
