The CGIAR Mid-Term Meeting 2001 (MTM2001) was held in Durban, South Africa, from Monday, May 21 to Friday, May 25, 2001. The meeting was hosted by the National Department of Agriculture (NDA) of South Africa. Hundreds of scientists and researchers from around the world joined CGIAR members for a week of activities, including "South Africa Day", on Monday, May 21, "African Agricultural Research Day", on Tuesday, May 22, and the CGIAR business meetings from Wednesday, May 23, to Friday, May 25.
