Completion of KCP II

Phase II of the Knowledge for Change Program (KCP II) began in December 2008 and was operational until June 30, 2017 when it officially closed.

KCP II received funding from 12 donors and funded 176 research projects on a variety of development topics.

KCP II funded projects under four windows addressing global issues and covering Asia, Africa and other regions.

  • Poverty Dynamics and Public Service Delivery (53 projects)
  • Investment Climate, Trade and Integration (55 projects)
  • Global Public Goods (35 projects)
  • Economic Development and Structural Change (33 projects)

KCP II was an important instrument for addressing critical knowledge gaps. After the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, KCP II allocated funding to study the causes of the crisis and analyze manifestations and impact for developing countries.
