Water resources are key to Burkina Faso's development and play an essential role in the economy. However, access to safe water and to improved sanitation is still a challenge for a significant part of the country. A new project supported by the World Bank will benefit more than 1.1 million people with improved water supply and 1.3 million people with improved sanitation services in targeted areas.
