In just a few short years, Gold Coast Fruits, in the heart of Ghana’s pineapple belt, have overcome pineapple plant diseases and harvest losses. The farm has significantly increased its production of this sweet and tangy fruit, thanks to the World Bank’s Sustainable Development Fund, which supported a skills development program that brought pineapple experts all the way from Costa Rica to rehabilitate the diseased plants, and show farmers how to grow the best pineapples in West Africa.
