The World Bank is supporting West African governments in their efforts to better manage the region’s rich natural resources through its West Africa Regional Fisheries Program (WARFP). The fishing industry earns countries in this region an estimated $4.9 billion per year, increasing GDP, sustaining incomes and providing food security for fishing communities at the local level.
