President Kim was one of the first global leaders to meet with members of the new British Parliament, formed following the recent UK general election. A group of Lords and MPs was convened by Jeremy Lefroy MP, Chair of the Parliamentary Network of the World Bank, to discuss the role of the WBG and the post-2015 development agenda. President Kim stressed the importance of the partnership with the UK parliamentarians in shaping the global development agenda and in eliminating extreme poverty and addressing inequality. The wide ranging discussion considered climate change, tackling corruption, health system strengthening including the key role of community health workers and how best to share lessons from the UK’s own experience.
