The IX Conference of the Monitoring & Evaluation Network of Latin America and the Caribbean will be held from 2-4 December, 2013 in Lima, Peru. The conference is jointly organized by the Centro Nacional de Planeamiento Estratégico de Perú (CEPLAN), the Ministerio de Desarrollo e Inclusión Social de Perú (MIDIS) , the CLEAR Center for Latin-America, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the World Bank.
Since 2005, the Monitoring & Evaluation Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (REDLACME) has promoted the exchange, dissemination and capacity building in a growing number of countries and people in the region. The Network is an instrument that facilitates the regional dialogue around M&E issues among interested parties, such as academics, public servants and practitioners throughout Latin America and the Caribbean and beyond. The Conference draws over 300 participants every year and hundreds more who join virtually.
The IX Conference of the Monitoring & Evaluation Network in Latin America and the Caribbean main theme is Monitoring and Evaluation Systems: Towards the Permanent Improvement of Strategic Planning and Public Management Processes. The conference will cover the technical and political dimensions of M&E, highlighting both innovative methods and the latest tools. In addition the conference will illustrate both the challenges and best practices in institutionalizing M&E systems, as well as the key role of civil society and the use of new technologies for social accountability. Prior to the main conference, capacity building workshops will familiarize participants with basic concepts, tools, and techniques.
