Rei Odawara

Senior Economist, West Bank and Gaza

Rei Odawara is the World Bank’s Senior Economist currently engaged as the Country Economist for West Bank and Gaza. Prior to this position, she worked in the Latin America and Caribbean Region as a Senior Country Economist for the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and Barbados.

She has also previously worked in the Macroeconomics and Growth team of the Development Economics Research Group at the World Bank, where she contributed to research projects that analyzed trends of international capital flows, growth effects of public investment and impacts of currency undervaluation on technological progress. Rei holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics with concentrations in Macroeconomics and International Finance from George Washington University and a Master of Public Administration from New York University.
