Patrizio Pagano has been the World Bank Group Executive Director for Italy, Albania, Greece, Malta, Portugal, San Marino and Timor-Leste since November of 2014.
Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Pagano led the Advanced Economies and International Finance Division within the Directorate General for Economics, Statistics and Research of the Bank of Italy in Rome.
Mr. Pagano holds a B.A. in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University in Milan, received a Master of Science in Economics from the University of London, Birckbeck College (UK) and earned his Doctorate in Economics at the University of Pavia (Italy).
He has also been a visiting scholar in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Pagano has authored and co-authored several articles on Macroeconomics, International Finance, Trade and Growth in journals such as the Journal of International Economics and the Journal of Applied Econometrics.
