Alemayehu Ambel

LSMS-ISA Resident Advisor for Ethiopia

Alemayehu Ambel is an Economist in the Development Data Group of the World Bank. He is the Living Standards Measurement Study-Integrated Surveys on Agriculture (LSMS-ISA) Resident Advisor for Ethiopia. His research interests include fertility, child nutrition, child labor, education, market access and food security. As a member of the LSMS-ISA team, he has expertise in survey instrument development, field operations, and data quality control and analysis. He holds a MSc in Economic Policy Analysis from Addis Ababa University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Western Michigan University.

    Living Standards Measurement Study

    The Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) and the Living Standards Measurement Study-Integrated Surveys on Agriculture (LSMS-ISA) were established to explore ways of improving the type and quality of household data collected by statistical offices in developing countries. The goal is to foster increased use of household data as a basis for policy decisionmaking.
