Alemayehu Ambel

LSMS-ISA Resident Advisor for Ethiopia, Development Research Group

Alemayehu Ambel is an Economist in the Development Research Group of the World Bank. He is the Living Standards Measurement Study-Integrated Surveys on Agriculture (LSMS-ISA) Resident Advisor for Ethiopia. His research interests include fertility, child nutrition, child labor, education, market access and food security. As a member of the LSMS-ISA team, he has expertise in survey instrument development, field operations, and data quality control and analysis. He holds a MSc in Economic Policy Analysis from Addis Ababa University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Western Michigan University.
  • Living Standards Measurement Study

    The Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) and the Living Standards Measurement Study-Integrated Surveys on Agriculture (LSMS-ISA) were established by the Development Research Group to explore ways of improving the type and quality of household data collected by statistical offices in developing countries.
