Achim Fock, a German national, took over as Portfolio & Operations Manager in the World Bank office in Vietnam, on July 1, 2015.
Achim Fock has about twenty years of professional experience, seventeen of which with the World Bank. Prior to his assignment in Vietnam he used to be the Manager of Development Effectiveness Unit for South Asia. Previously, he was Senior Economist for several countries in Africa and East Asia Pacific.
Born in Germany, Achim Fock received Masters degrees in agricultural science and in agricultural economics from University of Reading and Christian-Albrechts-Universitaet Zu Kiel; post-graduate diploma in European integration and international economics from Universitaet Hamburg; and PhD in agricultural economics from Martin-Luther-Universitaet Halle-Wittenberg.
