The
fact that practices are recorded and displayed do not constitute
an approval - or in the case of the rejection of a contribution,
a disapproval - by the World Bank or its partners in the indigenous
knowledge initiative of the validity of the practice.
The
nature of the subject does not allow for an external judgement
whether an indigenous practice is a best practice. Ultimately,
the validity of a practice can be judged upon only by the
community that applies it, by the agents that intend to disseminate
it and by the recipients of a practice who may decide to adopt
and adapt it according to their own needs. It is not the purpose
of this database to preempt any judgement on a practice. It
is the responsibility of the contributor to ensure that a
practice is thoroughly reported, corroborated and presented
with the contributors judgement why a given practice
is worthwhile to0be shared within the developing community.
