Mr. Wong is currently Program Manager for Competitiveness Industry and Innovation Program at the World Bank, and the Global Product Specialist for Spatial Solutions based in Washington DC.
Economist from the University of Vienna, worked in marketing for a media and then an advertising company for several years before joining the Austrian Foreign office, the Development Cooperation Department. Joined the Africa Region of the World Bank in DC (2002) and later assigned to the World Bank office in Tanzania (2004) as the Sector Coordinator for Finance and Private Sector Development, joined the South Asia Region in 2008 and assigned to the Abuja, Nigeria Country Office as the Sector Leader in 2011.
Works mainly on industry competitiveness, developing cluster competitiveness programs with support initiatives including (matching grants, business plan competitions industrial parks and export processing zones; and on access to finance issues including development, housing and SME finance programs.
