This study aims to enhance the capacity of Burkina Faso to integrate climate resilience in urban development and urban mobility; with a focus on flood and extreme heat risk. The assignment includes a climate and disaster risk assessment based on existing data and scan of the institutional; policy and legal frameworks that govern urban development and mobility that will inform the prioritization and technical studies of investments within Bobo Dioulasso; Kaya and Ouahigouya. Recommendations will focus on enhancing climate resilience of infrastructure investments already identified through ongoing World Bank and partner projects. Emphasis will be placed on nature-based solutions to reduce the vulnerability of secondary cities to flood and extreme heat risk while generating other social; environmental; and economic benefits.
