April 16, 2026 - In an era characterized by heightened global volatility - driven by geopolitical tensions, trade fragmentation, and climate shocks - emerging economies face significant hurdles in maintaining stable growth.  To achieve sustainable economic growth amid these pressures, emerging economies should prioritize structural transformations, including sustainable natural resources downstreaming to capture higher value chains, alongside investments in digital infrastructure and human capital to boost productivity. 

April 15, 2026 - On the sidelines of the 2026 IMF-WBG Spring Meetings, Finance Ministrs, Economists, and development experts gathered for a high-leavel dialogue with an urgent message: for middle-income countries, especially in Southeast Asia, recovery from recent crises is no longer enough. The path to high-income status demands something harder - structural transformation, institutional coherence, and the political will to reform when it is still a choice, not a necessity.

On April 14, 2026, at the World Bank Headquarters during the IMF-WBG Spring meetings, the Office of Executive Director of the Southeast Asia Voting Group, World Bank Group (EDS16), in collaboration with the Embassy of Indonesia in Washington DC, hosted an event focused on the development of high-itegrit carbon markets.  The High-Level Roundtable was established as the inaugural forum dedicated to progressing the creation of such markets, leveraging Indonesia's experiences.

On October 16, 2025, the World Bank's MC C2-350 conference room became a forum for one of the most urgent conversations in development: how to accelerate the energy transition in ways that are both sustainable and inclusive. The side-event, "Unlocking Capital, Innovation & Jobas for a Resilient Energy Future," was organized by the Southeast Asia Voting Group with support from the Saudi Arabia executive director office. The gathering brought together policymakers, financial experts, and industry leaders from across Southeast Asia and beyond to explore solutions for a resilient energy future. 

On October 13, 2025, on the sideline of 2025 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund, the Office of Executive Director for South-East Asia Voting Group of the World Bank Group (EDS16) and the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) co-orgnized a panel discussiion to Champion the crop's untapped potential to fuel jobs, innovation, and climate-smart growth worldwide.

From September 30 to October 2, 2025, the WBG - IMF Indonesia Staff Association (ISA) organized the "Indonesia Heritage Week/Batik Day 2025" at the World Bank Headquaters.  This event was co-organized with the Office of the Executive Director for the South-East Asia Voting Group, World Bank Group and supported by the Indonesia Embassy in Washington, D.C.
