Liying Meng is an Analyst with the Utility Services topic of the Business Ready Unit, which she joined in May 2023. Prior to this role, she conducted research on business environments and investment linkages between China and Latin America as a research assistant at the Woodrow Wilson Center. She also served as a Business Assistant to the Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Ecuador in China, where she contributed to trade and investment promotion and stakeholder engagement activities. In the private sector, she worked on international business expansion initiatives, including city launch planning in Latin America for Didi Chuxing. Liying holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. She speaks Chinese and Spanish.
