Klaus Koch-Saldarriaga

Klaus Koch-Saldarriaga is a Senior Private Sector Development Specialist. He oversees the B-READY teams handling the dialogue with stakeholders and governments, communications and experts engagement. In additon he supervises the International Trade and Labor topic teams. Klaus coordinated the public consultation for the B-Ready Concept Note and spearheaded the B-READY branding strategy. Previously, as a Regulatory Specialist he led the B-Ready Business Insolvency team, the Labor, and Resolving Insolvency indicators teams for the Doing Business project, as well as leading the interactions with governments. He also contributed to the Citizen Engagement in Rulemaking project within the Global Indicators Department. Before joining the World Bank Group, Klaus served as a diplomat (Counsellor) at the Embassy of Colombia to the United States, where he played a key role in the congressional approval of the the U.S.–Colombia Free Trade Agreement and the bilateral Action Plan on Labor Rights. His experience also includes roles at the Business Association of Colombia (ANDI) and with the law firms Heuking Kühn in Germany and DG&A in Colombia. Klaus holds an LL.M. from UC Berkeley, undertook the negotiation program at Harvard University, and earned his law degree with honors from Javeriana University in Colombia. He is fluent in Spanish and German.
