Luxembourg
BY THE NUMBERS: LUXEMBOURG
OVERVIEW LUXEMBOURG
The World Bank Group’s Brussels office works to promote consensus around the international development agenda and build a platform for collaboration between the World Bank Group and Luxembourg. The office serves as an entry point for stakeholders in Luxembourg wishing to contact World Bank Group staff across the world or access information, and it responds to media queries. It also seeks to increase opportunities for collaboration between Luxembourg and the World Bank Group through co-financing, trust funds, and joint analytical work in sectors and regions of mutual interest.
Cooperation with the Luxembourg Stock Exchange
Luxembourg is recognized for using its role as a financial hub to promote sustainable investment. The World Bank Group has been listing its bonds in Luxembourg for decades, beginning with the first IBRD bond and IFC security in the 1980s, later joined by IDA's first bond in 2018, also listed in Luxembourg. Bonds issued by IBRD and IDA are included on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange's platform and the Luxembourg Green Exchange database, which provide investors with extensive information on labeled bonds, supporting transparency in the bond market.
