As part of the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), the Entrepreneurship Database project collects data on female entrepreneurial activity, from 2014 to 2022, focusing on the following three variables: business owners, business directors and sole proprietors.

Sole Proprietors refer to the individuals that newly own and manage a business entity and who are indistinguishable from the business and are personally liable in the calendar year.

The table shows the difference between the number of new female and male sole proprietors per calendar year.
