Report Life Event - Reinstatement of a Child for Dependency Allowance
Staff must immediately report any life events or changes in household status within 60 days of the life event, even if the supporting documents are not immediately available. Staff must follow up with the outstanding information once it is available.
Reinstatement of a child who has not reached the age of 25 but who has resumed full-time student status is subject to review and approval by HR Operations.
Action by Staff
Report the event to HR Operations within 60 days of commencement of child’s full-time student status.
Supporting documentation and information to be provided are:
Letter from the child’s academic institution confirming full-time student status and the commencement date of the child’s attendance.
Confirmation that you are providing principal support for the child.
