The Livable Landscapes Academy is a comprehensive 10-year Global Knowledge Platform developed by the World Bank Group. Its primary objective is to accelerate and scale investments aimed at avoiding, reducing, and restoring degraded landscapes. The Academy provides a structured framework for knowledge sharing, convening, and learning, contributing to doubling the World Bank Group's conservation and management outcomes from 120 million hectares to 240 million hectares by 2035.
The Livable Landscapes Academy operates through three interconnected engagement components: Knowledge Curation, Knowledge Exchange, and an Impact Program. These components cultivate change management and learning ecosystems to defragment and scale landscape investments. The Academy serves as a marketplace for knowledge related to landscape restoration, offering stakeholders access to curated content, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and technical assistance to implement effective landscapes management strategies. The program targets countries with high readiness and political will, providing in-country support for coalition building, financing, and cost-reducing technologies.
