The new edition of the Macro Poverty Outlook (MPO) report was released during the Spring Meetings 2026 of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. It analyzes macroeconomic and poverty developments in 150 developing countries.

The World Bank's MFMod Framework in Python with Modelflow

The World Bank recently released open-source python-based versions of a number of its macroeconometric models. These models can be solved and simulated using the python-package ModelFlow package. A detailed manual is also available explaining how to set up a modeling environment, do simulations and generate graphs and tables of the results from simulations generated using the system.

Nature underlies economic activity, while natural capital contributes to growth. But the world’s natural capital - its renewable natural resources, ecosystems, and biodiversity is in decline. This report presents the state of integration of nature in two widely-used World Bank macroeconomic models : the Mitigation, Adaptation, New Technologies Applied General Equilibrium Model (MANAGE-WB) and Macro-Fiscal Model (MFMod).
