The World Bank provides low-interest loans, zero to low-interest credits, and grants to developing countries. These support a wide array of investments in such areas as education, health, public administration, infrastructure, financial and private sector development, agriculture, and environmental and natural resource management. The World Bank Board of Directors approved yesterday a $300 million credit for the Mozambique Access to Finance and Economic Opportunities Project or Mais Oportunidades project, spanning six years (2023-2029), financed by the International Development Association (*IDA).

The World Bank's EPARD project increased clean water access for 560,000 rural residents, but challenges remain. A new $80 Million project aims to tackle water and sanitation issues, and promote gender equality in the sector.
