00:58 We are proud of the achievements which have improved lives of ordinary Moldovans
01:03 over this time period.
01:05 We have committed about $2 billion
01:07 over 60 operations.
01:09 Right now our portfolio is very rich with 12 operations for about $650 million
01:17 and which.
01:17 Are being implemented every day here in Moldova.
01:20 Our areas of support include regulatory reform
01:24 and business development,
01:25 modernization of government services,
01:28 tax administration,
01:29 land registration,
01:31 education,
01:32 roads,
01:32 health,
01:33 agriculture,
01:34 water and sanitation,
01:35 and energy.
01:36 Today I was able to see firsthand the impact of World
01:39 Bank projects when I visited the Chisinal District Heating Company.
01:44 It was very impressive
01:45 to see the efficiency gains and the cost savings
01:49 brought about by more modern technology and district heating
01:53 at a time when keeping the population of Moldova warm
01:57 couldn't be more important.
02:04 Clearly the challenges in Moldova in the region and globally persist,
02:09 but we also know that challenges bring opportunities.
02:12 The World Bank is determined to continue working to help Moldova
02:16 seize the opportunities in addressing both the immediate needs,
02:20 but also the longer term development agenda
02:23 that is still very,
02:24 very important.
02:26 We are at the final stages of preparing the
02:29 new country partnership framework for the coming 5 years,
02:32 and we will be,
02:33 and this will be aligned with Moldova's development priorities,
02:37 and we will work together to make sure that public services are more accessible,
02:41 Efficient and transparent,
02:43 the economy more vibrant,
02:45 greener,
02:45 and sustainable,
02:47 and of course to ensure that all Moldovans have access to
02:50 better quality education,
02:52 health,
02:53 and that the poorest are supported,
02:55 especially when crisis hit.
02:57 Let me conclude with the assurance that like the 30 years ago
03:01 when the World Bank came to help Moldova with
03:03 the very first financing for the emergency drought recovery project
03:08 in the amount of $26 million
03:10 we remain committed to working together with all stakeholders and supporting
03:14 a resilient post-crisis recovery,
03:17 fostering long-term sustainable development
03:19 and building a prosperous and inclusive society
03:22 for many,
03:23 many years to come.
03:24 Thank you and enjoy this evening.
