Sifiso Vumasa, an environmental education assistant in iSimangaliso Wetland Park in South Africa, tells his story about growing up in the local community to now using knowledge passed down from his father to do his job and motivate youth.Sifiso is just one of many who benefit from sustainable job opportunities for the community in and around the park. With the help of a Global Environment Facility (GEF) grant of $9 million, the World Bank provided implementation support to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority to improve the ecological functioning of Lake St. Lucia and create sustainable economic and employment opportunities for local communities.
