In cooperation with the Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF) Working Group, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) launched a call for proposals for a CSPF in Washington, DC, with hybrid components. The CSPF will take place alongside the upcoming World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings.
The call for proposals was open to civil society organizations (CSOs)* and CSO networks from all over the world, and the submission period closed on August 19.
The World Bank and IMF review committee, with the help of the CSPF Working Group, selected proposals that contributed to a diverse and comprehensive forum. The schedule is available here.
The Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF) has become an integral part of the Meetings, providing an open space for CSOs to dialogue and exchange views with World Bank and IMF staff, their peers, government delegations, and other stakeholders on a wide range of topics.
In addition to the 33 CSO-led sessions, the AMs featured:
- The Bank Group President’s live-streamed townhall with civil society (October 22)
- Civil Society Townhall with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva (October 21)
- An in-person roundtable with the Board of Executive Directors (October 22)
- A Bank Group introductory session for CSO representatives new to the meetings - or those just in need of a refresher (October 22)
- Virtual session on the World Bank's Environmental and Social Framework (October 24)
- An overview of CIVIC: The Civil Society & Social Innovation Alliance (October 23)
