The World Bank’s Extractives Global Programmatic Support (EGPS) Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) will hold an international conference, “Business Unusual: What Future for ASM post Covid-19?” on December 6-7, 2022, at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. The conference will draw on the lessons from responses to support ASM communities during the COVID-19 crisis. Given the scale of the EGPS response, the conference will highlight efforts made by organizations that worked under the Emergency Response Window. The conference will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation into French and Spanish.

The conference aims to:

1.     Share knowledge amongst ASM practitioners, based on the successes and failures of the COVID-19 crisis (experiences need not be exclusive to organizations that participated in the EGPS COVID-19 Emergency Response Window).

2.     Expand networking for organizations working in ASM communities, including offering tailored technical assistance sessions and peer-to-peer learning.

3.     Provide visibility of achievements from organizations participating in the EGPS Covid-19 Emergency response window.
