Sydney Gourlay is an Economist in the Development Data Group of the World Bank. She is a member of the Methods & Tools Development team of the 50x2030 Initiative and of the Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS). Her primary area of research is methodological validation with a particular focus on agriculture, including land area measurement, land tenure, and soil health. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from American University in Washington, DC.
