Rui Costa is a Statistician at the World Bank Development Data Group, where he works on price data validation, data access, operational materials, user guidance, and the development of data collection and management tools for the International Comparison Program (ICP).
His research focuses on price data monitoring, inflation, and cross-country comparisons, with particular attention to their implications for poverty and inequality.
Before joining the World Bank, Rui worked at Statistics Portugal as part of the regional coordination team of the Eurostat and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Purchasing Power Parities Programme.
He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Catholic University of Portugal.
