Joaquin A. Urrego is Research Assistant in the Office of the Chief Economist for Latin American and the Caribbean Region since 2014. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Universidad EAFIT (Medellin, Colombia). He completed the core MA course work at same institution, and he is planning on submitting his master thesis in 2015. He is currently working in topics related with crime and violence in Latin American and Caribbean Region.
Joaquin has been working on economics of crime for the past two years. His personal research has focused on mobility issues in the labor market, spatial analysis of the effects of permanent income on crime, and issues about performance and equity of royalties in Colombia.
