The government of Kyrgyz and NEGK are keen to improve the efficiency of the overall power system; particularly to reduce the electricity losses of the entire power network and have requested the World Bank to support its efforts. The proposed activity is to respond to the country’s needs and aims to support the government’s loss reduction efforts and programs. In addition to identify and locate the losses; the activity focuses on building up the capacity of NEGK so that it could implement loss reduction measures through both investment programs and operation practice over both short and long term periods. The objective of the assignment is to help identify and locate the electricity losses across the power network of Kyrgyz; recommend losses reduction measures and technics; and build the capacity of NEGK staff and management for conducting loss reduction analysis and for implementing loss reduction measures.
