Results of the Enhancing Community Resilience Project ($240 million), implemented by UNICEF, WFP, Mercy Corps and CRS, include:
Logistics and supply chain efforts supported last-mile delivery of health and nutrition supplies, reaching 39,649 beneficiaries (15,860 children, 20,412 women). About 133,513 people benefited from direct health and nutrition interventions. Six mobile health teams were deployed to deliver primary healthcare services to remote host communities and IDP settlements.
Education: 18,960 children (8,532 girls) received learning materials and 155 Alternative Learning Program centers and 14 e-learning centers were established, achieving 82% of the planned target.
WASH Services: Distributed 10,500 cartons of purification tablets, 273 drums of chlorine, and 300 drums of polymer. 110,808 people (57,273 women) gained access to safe water through the rehabilitation of key water systems, installation of solar-powered boreholes, and targeted water purification activities. In River Nile State, eight solar-powered water facilities were completed. 5,000 meters of 4-inch HDPE piping was installed, expanding water supply capacity by 7,200 cubic meters per day, boosting access of clean water for high-density host and displaced groups.
