The Gabonese Republic is eligible for the World Bank’s IBRD window for middle-income and creditworthy low-income countries. On November 22, 2022, the World Bank Group approved a new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Gabon covering fiscal years 2023–2027. The CPF supports Gabon’s path toward sustainable and inclusive economic growth, contributing to two high-level outcomes: (i) enhanced household resilience and (ii) job creation in the non-oil private sector. The CPF aligns with Gabon’s development strategy, the Plan for Accelerating Transformation (PAT), and the World Bank’s Regional Strategy.
The selective engagement targets are the following :
- Strengthening public service delivery systems;
- Increasing social service accessibility;
- Building more resilient urban infrastructure;
- Increasing private investments in non-oil sectors.
The World Bank’s current portfolio in Gabon includes three active projects (two national and one regional), totaling $214.50 million, focused on digital development and statistics.
