The Adaptation and Resilience Solutions in Action series features case studies showcasing how countries and partners are addressing climate risks and building resilience through innovative policies, programs, and financing solutions. Drawing from real-world experience, the series highlights practical examples of how adaptation is implemented and scaled, integrating climate resilience into national and local development planning.

Building on the Rising to the Challenge flagship report, these case studies illustrate how countries and development partners are turning adaptation and resilience targets into tangible results—strengthening local institutions, improving financial preparedness, and delivering climate-resilient solutions for vulnerable communities. The series span multiple thematic areas, including locally led climate action, disaster risk financing, adaptive social protection, and climate information and early warning systems to confront rising temperatures, floods, and droughts. New case studies will continue to be added, reflecting emerging lessons and innovations from across the adaptation and resilience landscape to inform the scale-up of adaptation action.

The Adaptation and Resilience Solutions in Action case studies are curated, edited and reviewed by Jia Li, Sr. Economist, and David Allen, Climate Change Specialist.

CGAP's case studies on scaling inclusive insurance while preserving consumer value address the core barrier to scale—economic viability—and examine practical pathways that help distribution partners and insurers extend coverage to vulnerable populations, especially women. By spotlighting new models and partnerships, the series offers actionable insights for expanding access and strengthening resilience. Each case study highlights a particular aspect of the inclusive insurance industry where disruption is needed and feasible.
