Building a Water Secure Future

The World Bank Group Water Products Catalogue is a comprehensive knowledge resource compiled to respond to the varied challenges and opportunities within the global water sector. Its main objective is to provide policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders with tailored solutions, technical guidance, and proven best practices to enhance water security, strengthen service delivery, and promote the sustainable management of water resources.

This catalogue is organized according to the three pillars of the World Bank Group Water Strategy, ensuring that each product aligns with the sector’s strategic priorities.

The Global Sanitation Crisis-icon
This pillar focuses on ensuring equitable access to safe water and sanitation services, particularly for marginalized populations. Products under this category address issues such as urban sanitation (e.g., Citywide Inclusive Sanitation), utility performance (Utility of the Future), digital transformation (Digital Water), and WASH in schools and healthcare facilities. They also provide tools for improving financial sustainability and private sector participation, such as the Creditworthiness Course and WaterSAP.

Nourish and Flourish-icon
Supporting agricultural productivity and resilience, this pillar targets smallholder farmers and irrigation operators. Knowledge products include guidance on farmer-led irrigation development, capacity building for irrigation operators (Irrigation Operator of the Future), and tools for water data management (Water Accounting and Hydro Informatics), all aimed at enhancing food security through improved water management.

Continental-Drying-Icon
This pillar addresses the sustainable management of water resources at the ecosystem and basin levels. Products focus on drought and flood resilience (Drought Risk and Resilience Assessment, EPIC Response Framework), groundwater management, dam safety, and transboundary water cooperation. They provide frameworks and diagnostics to help countries anticipate risks, plan for integrated water storage, and promote ecosystem conservation.

Additionally, the catalogue includes cross-cutting products, which tackle economic and fiscal challenges, such as water tariff reforms, public expenditure reviews, and guidelines for economic analysis.
