[Recruitment: Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) Short Term Temporary/Consultant (STT/STC) for Event Technician (Web Tech)]

The World Bank TDLC is seeking an Event Technician STT/STC to support TDLC’s communication activities in Japanese and English. 

Duties and Accountabilities: 

  • Support the setup and operation of online event management platforms, including setting up speaker links, setting up site/platform infrastructure,

  • Troubleshoot any technical issues

  • Manage the recording of the events, including editing video for repackaging/dissemination,

  • Set up computers and converters in the conference rooms for PowerPoint presentations in in-person events/activities,

  • Support in the management of vendors, video production, and/or when holding events at external venues across Japan,

Selection Criteria: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in management of technical aspects of events (virtual/in-person) and/or experience in audio-visual management,

  • Experience in running technical operations for virtual events is a plus,

  • Knowledge and experience in video and audio equipment, and knowledge of multimedia formats is a plus,

  • Experience and ability with video editing software such a Premiere Pro is desired, but not required,

  • Strong English language skills. Strong Japanese language skills is desirable but not required,

[Recruitment: Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) Short Term Consultant (STC) for Community Management]

The World Bank TDLC is seeking a community manager STC to support TDLC’s Community of Experts (community of practice for urban experts and practitioners in Japan and abroad) initiatives in Japanese and English, as well as supporting Technical Deep Dives (TDDs) alumni group’s activity and maintenance. 

Duties and Accountabilities: 

  • Strategy: Develop community strategies to further alumni engagement and TDLC brand recognition. 

  • Member Engagement: Getting to know urban experts and practitioners in Japan and abroad - their needs, and challenges, and helping them connect with one another to develop valuable relationships based on trust and mutual respect. 

  • Coordinating Activities and Content: Design and implement specific Community of Experts (CoE) and TDD alumni activities based on the community strategy, initiate relevant discussions, and make sure that core CoE and TDD alumni members are actively involved in creating content and participating in organizing online activities.

  • Knowledge Dissemination: Package event content for reuse, draft and/or edit results stories, blog posts, one-pagers, fact sheets and other materials, including reports, toolkits or other documents intended for print and online dissemination.

Selection Criteria: 

  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree (preferably in Communications or other relevant discipline). Master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.

  • More than 3 years of experience in launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter)

  • Has basic knowledge on website & SNS. Enjoy and excel working with SNS channels (FB, Twitter, Linked-in, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English, proficiency in Japanese is required.
