The SPF-supported Central African Republic: Local Connectivity Emergency Project was signed on April 15, 2016. The objective of this project is to reconnect the rural population of the lagging northeast region to urban centers and local markets by rehabilitating a key access road. The project will also help creating jobs and redeploying public servants from the Ministry of Public Works in this remote region. The project is financed by a US$4.9 million SPF grant and will be executed by UNOPS using the flexibility of the Fiduciary Principles Accord (FPA).
