Accountability Mechanism Secretary

The World Bank Accountability Mechanism is headed by the Accountability Mechanism (AM) Secretary who is appointed by the Board of Executive Directors for one five-year non-renewable term and reports directly to the Board.

 

 

Accountability Mechanism Secretariat

The Accountability Mechanism Secretariat provides operational, outreach, and administrative support to the AM Secretary. The Secretariat also organizes and participates in outreach activities, seminars, and other events, and disseminates information about the mechanism. 

Inspection Panel

The Inspection Panel consists of three members who are appointed by and report directly to the Board for five-year non-renewable terms.

 
Inspection Panel carries out its functions independently and the Inspection Panel Members and Chairperson will coordinate with but not be subject to the supervision of the Accountability Mechanism Secretary.

AM-IPN

The AM-IPN team provides operational and administrative support to the Chairperson and Panel Members and assists the Panel in processing requests, conducting eligibility reviews and investigations, and responding to queries. The AM-IPN team also organizes and participates in outreach activities, seminars and other events, and disseminates information about the Panel, its mandate and work. 

AM-DRS

The Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) staff includes both a core team, operating out of Washington, D.C, and several field teams, appointed to and working on specific cases. The core team includes dispute resolution specialists, analysts, and program support staff. The field teams include mediators, agreed to by both parties on a case, language support staff, and other experts and assistants as required.
