In Juba, Selua Harriet Wani’s daily focus is simple but urgent: providing a better future for her children. Before receiving support, survival was uncertain, with many families facing days without enough food or stable income. Through the Productive Safety Net for Socioeconomic Opportunities Project (SNSOP) also known as “Sabaka Meisha”, vulnerable households received direct cash assistance to help strengthen livelihoods and build resilience. Rather than relying only on short-term support, Selua used the opportunity to invest in her future. Her story illustrates how combining financial support with practical skills can help women create lasting change and stronger economic foundations for the future.
The SNSOP is a five- year, $199 million project financed by the World Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry with support from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
