Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia joined the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) in October 2025, enabling fast, low-cost euro transfers and cutting average cross-border payment costs. The World Bank provided technical and financial support to help Western Balkans countries meet SEPA accession requirements, and is now working to extend the benefits further.
