Indonesia’s water programs have benefited millions with improved clean water and sanitation access

Between 2008 and 2021, the World Bank supported Indonesia's PAMSIMAS, a community-based water supply and sanitation project that focused on providing access to improved water supply and sanitation in rural areas, benefitting millions of Indonesians. Building on the success of PAMSIMAS, the World Bank further supported Indonesia's National Urban Water Supply Project (NUWSP) in urban areas and strengthened the capacity of local water utilities.
