Vaccines for Africa: Madagascar | Transforming a Restaurant as a Vaccination Center

Successful COVID-19 vaccination campaigns require adapting to the needs of rural communities who may struggle with access. We hear from Jojo, a restaurant owner in Madagascar, who teamed up with the local government to use his restaurant as a vaccination center, facilitating access to live-saving vaccines in his village. In order to help countries dispel vaccine hesitancy and boost demand for an increasing number of vaccine doses that are being delivered, we are working with health teams in country offices to capture the voices of a wide range of Africans — from young to old, different backgrounds and genders – to showcase their experience with getting the vaccine or their enthusiasm for vaccinations when it becomes available to them.
