The Government of Rwanda’s Electricity Roll-out Access Program (EARP) supported by the World Bank has brought 1 million Rwandans electricity during its four-year implementation. With households, schools, and hospitals as the primary beneficiaries, the number of total electricity connections tripled between 2009 and 2012. The second phase of the program aims to provide 70 percent of Rwandan households with electricity access by 2017.
