World Bank Group Announces Resumption of Dealings with Venezuela

Washington, DC – April 16, 2026: Guided by the outcome of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) polling process, the World Bank Group today announced that it is resuming dealings with the Government of Venezuela, under the administration of acting President Delcy Rodríguez. Venezuela has been a member of the World Bank Group since 1946. Dealings with Venezuela were paused in 2019, and the last loan was in 2005.
