WASHINGTON, October 11, 2021 – This afternoon, World Bank Group President David Malpass met with Rogelio Ramírez de la O, Mexican Secretary of Finance and Public Credit.

President Malpass and Secretary Ramírez de la O discussed Mexico’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, key government investment initiatives, and private capital mobilization – including through securitization and other capital market instruments – to spur inclusive and sustainable development.

President Malpass and Secretary Ramírez de la O reviewed efforts to support Central American countries and address regional development challenges.

President Malpass and Secretary Ramírez de la O also discussed shared development priorities, including debt relief for the poorest countries and the need for increased financing for development.
