Washington, July 9, 2026 – The World Bank Group’s Board of Executive Directors discussed the 2026-2030 Country Partnership Framework (CPF) to support Indonesia’s ambition to become a high-income country by 2045.

Aligned with the Government of Indonesia’s eight development visions or “Asta Cita” and National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN 2025-2045), the CPF focuses on accelerating inclusive and sustainable growth, enabling and mobilizing investment, and creating better jobs in higher-productivity sectors.

Indonesia has made significant development gains, including in poverty reduction, infrastructure expansion, and human capital development. For the first three years of the CPF period, the World Bank Group will aim  to catalyze $13 billion to support Indonesia’s development to drive growth and create jobs—by further strengthening the policy environment for public and private investment through  the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and mobilizing additional private investment through  the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Further, the World Bank Group’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) will explore opportunities to support cross-border private investment through political risk insurance and credit enhancement.

Indonesia’s CPF is organized around four outcome areas:

  1. Competitive private sector: Improve predictability, competition, finance, and revenue mobilization to support stronger, more formal private sector-led growth;
  2. Healthier, more productive workforce: Expand health services to nurture a healthier, inclusive, and more productive labor force;
  3. Better connectivity for growth: Strengthen power, transport, and digital networks so firms reach markets and workers access better jobs; and,
  4. Productive natural access: Improve natural resource management to boost resilience, productivity, and higher-value jobs in resource-dependent communities.

The new CPF builds on more than six decades of partnership between Indonesia and the World Bank Group, including support for health systems, social protection, education, infrastructure, environmental management, and the country’s COVID-19 response and recovery. It was developed through consultations with the Government of Indonesia, development partners, civil society organizations, the private sector, and academic institutions, reflecting Indonesia’s priorities and the aspirations of its 280 million people.
