VICTORIA, November 17, 2024 – The World Bank Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa, Victoria Kwakwa, will visit the Republic of Seychelles from November 17 to 19, 2024.
This will be her first visit to Seychelles since becoming the institution’s vice president for the region. She will focus on supporting the government's reform agenda, discussing human capital and improving Seychelles’ resilience to climate change. Her visit represents a strengthening of ties with Seychelles, guided by the recently endorsed Country Partnership Framework (CPF) FY25-FY30, which frames the partnership between Seychelles and the World Bank Group.
Ms. Kwakwa will meet with the President of the Republic of Seychelles, the Minister of Finance, National Planning and Trade, and several other government and state officials. She will also engage with development partners, beneficiaries and frontline implementers of World Bank-financed projects, the private sector and members of civil society. Discussions will focus on firming the partnership to support Seychelles in enhancing its growth drivers and climate resilience.
